Lankford and Jesse Herrera's Quincea?era (Millbrook, 1994) covers much of the same ground in a shorter, less dramatic, and more readable narrative. With an informative but at times cloying text, King describes two California quincea?era celebrations from the initial planning stages to the last dances. Andrews summarily exposes the important topics, with most of them lacking in breadth, depth, clarity, and physical insight. The author also seems to jump around a lot. I am a fan and really hope that this will become a series.There were a few things that I felt were unresolved and hope that it’s because there is another series.
